Description: 1700 gilded copper pourer with a rounded body marked by a quadripartite decoration defined by the embossment of a double … more 1700 gilded copper pourer with a rounded body marked by a quadripartite decoration defined by the embossment of a double vertical rib that frames the tableaux decorated with floral racemes; the background of these panels is finely dotted by the chisel tools in such a way as to give a very pleasant relief to the embossed parts which acquire greater importance thanks to the burnishing.

The cast handle recalls the motif of the scrolls present on the body of the eighteenth-century pourer. The spout is closed by a hinged lid with a small floral jet as a grip, with minimal deformations near the hinge which compromise its perfect closure.

In the upper part we can see welding signs in the horizontal section, justified by the internal presence of a glass ampoule sealed with plaster on the end of the neck.

This elegant golden jug was designed to serve wine during the Eucharistic celebration, it is an Italian artefact dating back to 1700, with splendid fire gilding and is in good condition apart from a small dent in the middle part of the body compatible with the eighteenth-century dating. less
