Probably Northern Central Pennsylvania circa 1820's
Blue base paint with stylised folky painted flowers, and 1/2 spindle arrow backs. Very folky paint decoration. Original as found paint decorated surface. The arrow 1/2 spindles are very unusual.
Size: 14 1/4" wide, 14" deep, 32 1/2" tall, and a 16 3/4" seat height.
Condition: Original painted surface, untouched surface. lots of great wear and patina. The surface is overall oxidised, but retains nice colour. Wear associated with use and age. The left rear stile on one of the chairs, has a spot of wood loss, this was probably covered with putty from the maker, and has since been lost. See pictures. less
