An early 20th-century pen and ink portrait of a man in profile, smoking a cigarette while wearing a wide-brimmed hat. This piece is professionally framed in a walnut frame with a wide linen mat and a gold band, protected under museum-quality anti-glare glass, and it is signed "W A" in the lower right corner.
This artwork was purchased from the daughter of a close friend of the artist, Weldon Amerine of Beaumont, Texas. She met him as a young girl and later inherited three illustrations from her parents, including this one.
