Made … more Pair of Friezes 1700, Carved Wood Lacquered in Blue and Fine Gold, probably part of a liturgical decorative complex. Made of lime wood, this pair of ancient decorative friezes, in Renaissance style but carved in the 18th century, were framed by frames, now missing, the absence of which justifies the irregular, unfinished edge. The decorative candelabra motif in relief is obtained by alternating love knots, fruit and grapes which are carved and dry-gilded and stand out on the light blue tempera painted background. The grapes carved and gilded at the end are the symbol of abundance, of wealth, as is the pomegranate, an always auspicious and propitiatory fruit.

The two rectangular panels are approximately 170 cm high, they are in good condition regardless of some small defects in the gilding. They have a hook at the top to be hung vertically, for example on the sides of a door, like period architectural elements.
