This exquisite mirror having a stepped ogee crown flanked with a crenelated border, below is a floral panel in relief with tri-color gilding and two further such friezes below with garlands of flowers and leaves. The sides of the mirror with ribbed pilasters topped with Corinthian capitals and the base of the columns terminating with reverse corbel brackets with floral motifs.
The mirror is grand in scale at over 6ft tall, it is elaborately gilded with the original gold leaf and having a warm, opulent glow. This mirror as it is full length can freestand from the floor, or be wall mounted or over a fireplace mantle. The mirror is is very good antique condition, all the gilding is original, the carvings and moldings are also in very good condition. This very fine antique American 19th century giltwood mirror is ready to grace your space. less
