Meet Henri & François! Named in homage to the elegant craftsmanship of Boch Frères, these one-of-a-kind lamps are lovingly handcrafted from vintage vases designed by Boch Frères Keramis in La Louvière, Belgium, for Royal Sphinx (formerly Petrus Regout) in Maastricht, the Netherlands. Each lamp is paired with a custom contemporary lampshade in luxurious scarlet red velvet, made in an atelier near Amsterdam, along with a matching red cord, adding a bold yet timeless sophistication to any space.
The vases that form the base of these lamps were crafted between 1969-1979, as indicated by the “Made for Royal Sphinx by Boch, Delfts” mark on the bottom. The intricate floral designs on the vases were achieved using the transfer-print technique—a method where a detailed monochrome print, initially engraved onto a copper or steel plate, was transferred onto the ceramic surface, preserving the fine details that hand-painting alone could not achieve.
These lamps are finished in a beautiful dark Delft blue, a hue distinctive to the ceramics produced by Petrus Regout & Co. and Royal Sphinx. Standing at an impressive height of 65 cm (25.6 inches), Henri & François are statement pieces that embody a blend of historical artistry and modern elegance, ideal for adding a striking touch to any interior.
