A museum piece! Art deco variegated caramel marble panther clock by Belgian/French sculpture Michel (Michael) Decoux. His panther sculptures are works of art, examples of the exact work that sits atop this clock sell for $2,000 and larger ones for $10,000. Clock was ordered & made in limited editions by Decoux himself, a few are in museums. Executed in 1920, 4 years before Decoux passed away. Almost impossible to find with matching urns. Superb Deco styling, even the pendulum is Art Deco. Sales of this clock are rare, but an example sold for $6,300 plus about 4 years ago.
Nothing of this age is perfect, but I'd grade it a 93 of 100. One urn has a couple small dents and a break at top and a marble repair at bottom. Some of the chrome is wearing on one column. Still, it presents beautifully and it's few flaws can barely be seen. Movement is strong with solid winding springs, just a cleaning and oiling needed. Remember, the panther alone sells for over $2,000! Reasonable offers considered, of course.
