The walnut wood frame is in excellent condition; the old finish has been removed and it has been sealed clear to reveal the walnut's natural shade. The wood is soft and healthy, free from any bleaching, showcasing intricate hand-carved details, including foliage, florals, and leaf ribbon trim. Decorative rosettes enhance various points of the design, and the arms are adorned with acanthus plume carvings above and below. The chair is supported by tapered, fluted legs, and the apron is embellished with a leaf ribbon trim motif. Its rounded, extra-wide form and deep, tight seat provide exceptional comfort.
The chair has been freshly reupholstered in 5 yards of alabaster colored Valdese Weavers Performance Chenille fabric and a double welt, which beautifully complements the walnut wood with its neutral off-white hue. This specially selected fabric incorporates Crypton technology, making it resistant to food stains and dirt on a white surface. Cleaning is simple—just use soap and water to keep it looking new. The seat is filled with the original horsehair and springs, but it has been reinforced with padding for added comfort, ensuring a firm yet graceful seating experience.
