"Protagonists of Italian design and culture of the 20th century Tobia Scarpa (born Venice in 1935) and his wife Afra Bianchin (1937-2011) both graduated from the IUAV in Venice in 1969. Multifaceted and curious designers, they worked in architecture, restoration, installations, design, graphics, teaching. Since the 1960s they have established themselves as protagonists of industrial design, through collaboration with a series of important companies Italian and international, including UniFor and Molteni&C. In addition to the industrial product, the Scarpa couple's activity has also focused on the restoration and design of numerous sales points, including the UniFor Corporate Showrooms.
Numerous international awards, in 1970 they were awarded the Compasso d'Oro.
