Italian cocoon table or table lamp, 1970s. Metal body in a tone between gold and bronze, holding two lampshades made with a metal frame covered in cocoon resin. The metal structure emulates a plant holding the tulips representing flowers.
Cocoon material was invented after World War II to protect unarmed warships and other unprotected items. It is made from powdered plastic and fiberglass. Arturo Eisenkeil imported this material to Italy, with which he made a multitude of decorative lamps and marketed them.
For two E14 bulbs. Structure in perfect condition. Renewed electrical installation. The cocoon screens have slight scratches visible in the photos.
