Description: Set of six dinner plates plus six fish-shaped majolica bases, a tureen, a gravy boat, and an oval tray from … more Set of six dinner plates plus six fish-shaped majolica bases, a tureen, a gravy boat, and an oval tray from the famous French company Sarreguemines.
The plates are round with delicious relief details of heads, fins and tails of great aesthetic appeal, as is the tureen which is also fish-shaped and modeled in the round.
The background color is caramel ocher with delicate green shades towards the edges.
The pattern of these majolica continued to be produced for many decades and this particular set dates back to the 1970s.
The production of earthenware was added to the production of Sarreguemines in 1860 and continued until 2007, when the factory finally closed.
