They have been given several hand rubbed coats of clear shellac to stabilize and preserve the existing finish but remain in excellent condition. Hitchcock Fan Back Windsor Arm Chairs in black with a grape vine hand stenciled pattern. The chairs have solid maple seats and elegant backs with turned stiles. Both chairs have turned legs and stretchers. Gold accents to the turned parts complete the look and show the high quality craftsmanship that Hitchcock put into all their furniture. The chairs show the normal age wear expected of vintage pieces such as scratches and finish wear from normal daily use. These particular chairs came out of Camp Hill Pennsylvania. Their ages are post 1951 as evidenced by the makers stamps found on the underside of the seats. This mark is what The company used to identify its furniture from copies that had started to show up on the market. One of the stamps is shown in one of the included photos. These chairs would make a nice accent set in most any room. Please look carefully at the photos as they are an important part of the description. Questions are always welcome. less
