Description: An absolutely stunning pair (2) of round back finely carved and gilt Empire style armchairs. These chairs are even more … more An absolutely stunning pair (2) of round back finely carved and gilt Empire style armchairs. These chairs are even more impressive in person. They are likely 19th century (possibly, though less likely, early 20th). They have been re-upholstered in a very interesting embroidered French style floral motif over a fine leather like synthetic fabric.

The carving and gilt finish on the chairs is outstanding and eye catching. They appear to be French or northern European in origin, e.g. Swedish or Danish empire. These are genuinely unique and unusual pieces of a bygone era of fine furniture making with more modern touch.
