A wonderful antique leather cricket ball with applied silver plated plaque, atop a figural silver plated stand of three crossed cricket stumps. The plaque has been engraved to read:

Awarded by the Cheetham Hill Cricket Club based in Cheetham Hill, an inner city suburb of Manchester, Greater Manchester. Now known as Cheetham Hill Sports Club, it was founded in 1847 to allow the local population to play cricket on ground rented from the Second Earl of Wilton. The club thrives to this day.
In great condition, the ball shows age and use. No major damage to the leather, but there are small surface marks and a lovely antique patina. The silver plating shows some wear and brassiness due to thinning, but is without any large spots of discoloration or damage. Marked on the base as made by John Round & Son.
The trophy measures a bit under 9.5 inches tall. The final image shows the two trophies in the style we have next to each other for comparison, this is the slightly taller one. less
