Fabulous tall ceramic vase, possibly Japanese Export/Art Nouveau, hand-painted on both sides with flowers and leaves. The front has a more extensive design with raised flowers; the back has a more delicate painting of one flower on a branch. Hand-applied brown leaves and a ridged green border run along the top and base. A bamboo stem was applied to the front base. The handles in gilt are of an animal's head on one side and the tail on the other.
No markings on the base or signature on the body.
Highly unusual and dramatic statement piece. less
