A brilliantly executed abstract figurative oil composition painted by the established Swedish artist Ivar Morsing (1919-2009), whose works have been exhibited in public collections including the National Museum in Stockholm, Moderna Museet in Stockholm, Kalmar Museum, and Jönköping Museum.
In this small yet impactful abstract composition, we can discern two figures strolling on a pathway in a forest setting.
The scene is bathed in a restrained palette of muted earthy shades of greens, browns and cream – evoking an emotive and nostalgic atmosphere.
The artist has used loose and expressive strokes, imbuing the artwork with a sense of dynamism and a beautiful light textural quality.
