A superb quality antique leather top military campaign pedestal desk. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1930s.
It is extremely well made, with a useful and smart design. The wood has a lovely colour tone, there is high quality brass hardware throughout, including inset military brass handles, carry handles on the sides and corner pieces. There is a brass rim around the top and this has an inset green leather writing surface with tooled edges. The back is also nicely finished, so this can be used as a free standing item.
We have had this recently re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age. There is just some minor wear, patina and various small marks here and there remaining beneath the polish, commensurate for age.
