Antique original oil on canvas portraying an imposing Square Rigger sailing ship under way on the moon lit high seas. This haunting and evocative scene is stunning when seen in person and commands a presence wherever it is hung. Navigation green and red lanterns visible near the ships fore-sail, with distant ships in the background.
Signed indistinctly lower right and dated 1903.
Condition is very good for age with no major damage or repairs.
Presented in a fine 3" deep gilt frame.
Executed in 1903. Likely English or American. A magnificent piece of artwork that is over 120 years old.
