With this pair of 19th century antique opera chairs at home, one does not actually have to attend the theater to feel elegant and sophisticated. The ebonized, balloon-back frame is painted with delicate gilt illustrations scrolling across the curved rail which are echoed in the spindles of the seat back. Caned seats keep the chairs light and portable, their honey tone coordinating with the gilded designs wrapping down the turned legs. The front corners of the chairs have lost some of the ebony finish to expose the wood below. Please view the detailed images. Sold as a pair. less
