Description: An item from times gone by, which today is no longer extremely useful on our desks, unless, as in this … more An item from times gone by, which today is no longer extremely useful on our desks, unless, as in this case, the beauty and glamor of the object make us forget its real function because its purpose becomes that of satisfying our sight. This vintage Gucci card cutter is the result of expert craftsmanship made in Italy during the 70s using the "Equestrian" theme iconic for this luxury band. The brass casting faithfully reproduces the horse's hoof in the handle; the rippled texture and the realistic indentation of the paw becomes incredibly smooth and pleasant to the touch on the body of the letter opener. I love the variation in finishing on the handle of the object, the result of knowledge in metalworking. In fact, a chrome-plated horseshoe in relief is applied to the horse's hoof which creates a splendid contrast with the gilding of the brass. This paper cutter is accompanied by its original box with the brand's logo. The condition of the item is good, there are small signs of oxidation and use visible in the photos and on the video. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
