Exquisite water pipe made of metal with cloisionné decorations, made at the end of the 19th century in China. It presents a refined decoration of lotus flowers that stand out against the dark background. Simple structure, the water is poured into the main and decorated part; It has a lid that has a seal in Chinese characters. Large stylized smoking mouthpiece, plus two tobacco punches, linked by a chain. Commonly called an opium pipe, it was used for smoking tobacco or wet tobacco (hookah). The use of the water pipe for smoking was introduced to China at the end of the Ming dynasty (syllabus XVI), along with tobacco, through Persia and the Silk Road. During the Qing Dynasty, it became the most popular method of smoking tobacco, and was popularized in the Republic.
