Description: Two Murano glass fruit bowl still lifes, constructed using the technique of blown glass and applied with intricate detailed poly … more Two Murano glass fruit bowl still lifes, constructed using the technique of blown glass and applied with intricate detailed poly chrome of pieces of fruit in a glass bowl by Artisti Barovier (1890-1919) circa 1910 (left) and 1919 (right). The two still lifes are different in arrangement and types of fruits and textures. In 1884 Giovanni Barovier and his nephews Giuseppe, Benvenuto and Benedetto, glass masters acquired ownership of the Salviati furnace, founded in 1877, after Salviati Dott’s departure. The company was renamed Artisti Barovier in 1896 the glassworks was established and undertook fruitful period of advance innovation and significant developments in the art and craft of glass production.
