Very early Dutch Delft plate hand-painted in deep cobalt blue on blue=gray ground in the chinoiserie motif with yellow slip-painted rim common in the late 17th century. Tin-glazed with lead-glazed underside, which is indicative of the process during this period.
CONDITION: No hairlines or cracks. Two long but shallow chips on rim. Considerable fritting along rim edge.
DIMENSIONS: Measures 8 3/4" diameter (22.25cm) 1" (2.50cm.) in depth
