- This marvelous antique celestial map is a print from Burritt's Atlas and was designed to illustrate the geography of the … more This marvelous antique celestial map is a print from Burritt's Atlas and was designed to illustrate the geography of the heavens. The interesting subject is of the Southern Circumpolar map for each month of the year. This amazing map has a gold matte frame, green mat and is covered with glass. The subscript reads: " Hartford, Published by F. J. Huntington, 1853. Entered according to the act of Congress, Sept. 1st, 1853 by F.J. Huntington of the state of Connecticut." Supersubscript under the globe reads: " Engraved by W.G. Evans, N. York, under the direction of E.H. Burritt." Measurements for this fabulous creation are: Outer frame Height=22 inches, Width=19 inches, Depth front to back=1-1/4 inches. Area within mat Height=13-1/4 inches, Width=14 inches. This marvelous framed map is in good, antique condition considering its age. There are some minor stains in the upper left hand corner, as well as the lower right hand corner. In addition, there is some overall toning, but the printing remains clear. Please review photos for addition information.
