It is high-quality glass with beveled edges and measures about 9 3/4" square. The image features Mercedes-Benz's famous Grand Prix/Formula One racing car from around 1954, the Silver Arrow (or Stromlinie) W196. Andy Warhol's facsimiled signature at bottom right corner. Extremely RARE in red – blue and green colors are far more common. This plate has been on display in a home. The plate is in near-perfect condition. The only imperctions that I have seen are two very small marks, which can only be seen when held up to a light. There are no chips or cracks in the glass. Very scarce RED glass plate by Rosenthal Studio-Line of Germany, in cooperation with The Andy Warhol Foundation and Mercedes Daimler Benz. Very Rare Red Mercedes-Benz (Rosenthal Studio-Line) Beveled Glass Plate from Germany. This piece is believed to be dated back to 1986, to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Daimler-Benz. This was also one of the last designs completed prior to the death of Andy Warhol in 1987.
In cooperation with The Andy Warhol Foundation and Mercedes Daimler Benz, Rosenthal Studio-Line of Germany created this Very Rare RED plate.

The plate is signed with a fired-in facsimile of Andy Warhol’s Signature and the Rosenthal Studio-Line Trademark.
Photos were taken with great care to try to show with as much accuracy as possible, the condition of this rare and luxurious plate. The image and color take on different qualities depending upon the light and reflections.
Very Scarce Red color, not to be confused with the more common green and blue.
