Description: Copied from an early American tall case clock found in the Winterthur Museum made by famed clockmaker David Williams from Newport, Rhode Island. The Mahogany Case is in a Goddard Townsend style with arched top surmounted by three reeded plinths, the bonnet with four reeded full columns, the trunk with stop fluted quarter columns, flanking a block front, shell carved door, and base with crotch Mahogany panel and ogee bracket feet, roman numeral hand painted metal dial with moon phase, subsidiary seconds, date aperture and signed "David Williams Newport" and Hamilton, Lancaster, PA. Eight day, two train brass movement striking the hours and half hours on a bell and driven by two brass weights. Clock includes weights, pendulum, key and winder. Very limited production clock licensed by Winterthur Museum interior plaque is engraved with Winterthur and Hamilton signatures and Registered Edition Number 35.
