Description: This handsome Holophane Porch Light is a classic example of the unique glass style first created in England over a … more This handsome Holophane Porch Light is a classic example of the unique glass style first created in England over a century ago. Its hallmark design is comprised of closely ridged prisms that provide a combination of uplight and downlight to illuminate evenly without creating dark spots or glare. We believe this fixture is circa 1940. The name Holophane is cast on the rim of the shade. The glass itself is a thing of beauty to behold and this fixture creates a substantial presence. We proudly had it on our own porch for a number of years. It is an exceptional Holophane fixture.

This light is unusually large. It is very nicely made. The glass comes in two parts, held together with clips and a center rod that runs through to the bottom tip of the glass bowl. The glass is 14" in diameter and 13.5" tall. The nickel brass lamp base is 6"wide and 5" tall. The complete fixture is 18.5" tall. It has been fully rewired and socketed and is ready to install. less
