A 1971 serigraph print by the Japanese artist Noboru Tsurutani (1940-2007). Titled Memories of Europe - II, this abstract work depicts colorful rectangles arranged over and around tan, white, and off-white geometric shapes. Signed and dated to the lower right, the print is titled and numbered 88/100 to the lower left. The work is displayed in a black wooden frame.
Noboru Tsurutani was born in Japan and attended school at the Kanazawa College of Art. After graduating from college, Tsurutani moved to the United States and taught art for more than 30 years. While in New York, he learned screenprinting techniques and began developing serigraphs. Tsurutani received numerous awards for his works, including from the Philadelphia Exhibition Print Club and the Paris Print Biennial.
