Art Deco figural lamp after 'Clarté', featuring a female nude with stylized hair, balanced with arched back, her arms outstretched supporting a milk glass spherical shade, standing on a round base. Made of metal alloy with burnished bronze finish.
The 'Clarté' sculpture was originally conceived by Le Verrier in 1928, the maquette carved in his studio from three live models. One model was used for the head, one for the upper body and one for the legs and lower body.
"Max Le Verrier, also known by the pseudonym Artus (1891–1973) was a French sculptor. He was known for being a pioneer within the Parisian Art Deco movement, creating decorative art objects often made in bronze as well as historical sculptures."
