This is a gorgeous oval wood dining table. It never had leaves. It has no opening and it is solid. I believe it is mahogany with a cherry finish though it could be cherry. It looks old underneath but the visible area looks beautiful. The crowning feature is the carved rope border call a gadroon. This pairs beautifully with our brown rope and tassel chairs. The table is not new and totally perfect though to me it is ready to go. The oval sits on 2 ball and claw pedestals. You could pair any number of Chippendale or Chinese Chippendale chairs with it in addition to the rope chairs. This is a forever table. It is just beautiful. I do not know the manufacturer, age or where it was produced. The top comes off and it is on two pedestals.
