The Camaleonda modular sofa, designed by Italian architect and designer Mario Bellini in 1970 is a celebrated icon of contemporary furniture design. The sofa was originally developed for B&B Italia and quickly became a symbol of 1970s modernism, blending aesthetics, comfort and functionality. Though the Camaleonda was discontinued in 1979, its influence endured and it became a sought-after collector's piece in the vintage furniture market. In 2020, responding to renewed interest in Bellini's work and modular living trends, B&B Italia reissued the Camaleonda.
This Camaleonda modular sofa with ottomans was purchased in June of 2022 from B&b Italia.
The fabric is Licata 888 Cobalt Blue mohair and consists of one left arm long back, one central back, one right arm long back and two square ottomans. These individual modules can be combined and rearranged in endless configurations.
Each piece (five pieces total) is 37 3/4" x 37 3/4"
Left arm, center arm and right arm sofa combined measures 113.25"
Two ottomans at each ends of armed pieces measures 75.5" ( U shape shown on images) less
