Meticulously handcrafted by Amitābha Studio in Amsterdam, this exquisite pair of table lamps is fashioned from rare antique Boch Frères Keramis vases (circa 1872-1900), designed in a captivating Delft Polychrome Chinoiserie style. Named “Goudvink” and “Puttertje,” each lamp is a tribute to Dutch heritage and artistry, drawing inspiration from cherished Dutch bird motifs and named accordingly. The intricate hand-painted detailing on the vases showcases the artistic legacy of Dutch faience painters recruited by Victor Boch for “la Chambre des peintres hollandais” (The Dutch Painter’s Chamber), bridging traditional Delft techniques with Boch’s innovations. The lamp was created without harming the original vase in any way.
These lamps are paired with custom, sunny yellow satin lampshades, crafted in a local atelier near Amsterdam, which cast a warm and inviting glow that enhances the elegance of the vases’ detailed patterns. Amitābha Studio has taken special care to preserve the historical integrity of each piece by routing the electrical cords through the vase necks, avoiding any alteration to the original ceramic.
