Fabulous traditional John Scalia for Schmieg & Kotzian mahogany library writing desk table.
Schmieg and Kotzian was a well-known furniture manufacturing company in New York City for many generations, founded in the 1920s by Karl Schmieg and Henry Kotzian.
Their custom woodworking firm is known for its extraordinary and outstanding high-quality of workmanship.
Their clients included the Waldorf Astoria, the Supreme Court, and New York's social elite, till they closed their doors in the 1970's.
This library writing desk table looks striking and magnificent with rich deep mahogany.
The top is brown leather embossed with gilt tooling, and lined with a mahogany veneer surround.
Features two concealed drawers, raised on long square legs.
This table was custom made for the Irving Trust Company, A Charter New York Bank.
Very versatile and can be used as a writing desk, sideboard, or console sofa table.
