Bardin et Cie who were later known as Parfumerie La Perle, served as official perfumers to Princess Clementine of Belgium. In the late 1800s, they gained further prominence by enlisting the legendary actress Sarah Bernhardt as a paid endorser. The company operated under the name Bardin et Cie until around 1909, when it transitioned to the Parfumerie La Perle brand. Renowned worldwide, they were celebrated for their signature pearl powder and pearl cold cream. On the top is a rococo scroll design in relief and the hinged lid shuts nice and tight. On the bottom a description reads 'Poudre des Perles fines, BARDIN & Cie, Paris, 35 Blvd des Capucines'. The inside is clean and there are no dents or signs of much use. Excellent condition with minor wear commensurate with age. From France, circa 1920. less
