A large scale, good looking camphor wood trunk. Recently cleaned and polished to reveal its striking wood grain and color. Brass bound corners and edges, and chunky brass carrying handles on each end. These trunks were made in China mainly for Europeans. They were often used as military chests on land and sea, as they were very sturdy and rot and bug resistant. The interior still retains a camphor wood smell. less
