On our buying tips to South China, I would try to pick up unusual pieces of furniture, this was one and only hanging display shelf, and I have not found another. Nor have I seen a prototype similar to this piece anywhere in my research materials on Chinese furniture. So I present a one of a kind piece that is made of Chinese construction with an unusual form that is not a square or rectangle, but one with an irregular shape and unequal sides. And it has interesting configuration in the shelves for displaying objects.
The shelf has double trims with beaded edges that add to its interesting look. It is finished in a dark mahogany lacquer that is typical of furniture made in Zhejiang or Jiangsu provinces. less
