Large Bjorn Wiinblad for Rosenthal Studio Linie gold leafed porcelain vase. 11 inches tall and nearly five inches wide by nearly four inches deep. There is a smaller one available at 7” tall.

Björn Wiinblad (1918–2006) was one of Denmark’s leading artists in the 20th century. After his art studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, he worked for Nymölle and Rosenthal in the 1940–1970s. Björn was a prominent designer of kindhearted pieces with whimsical round-faced people, often surrounded by natural elements. His artistry is represented at numerous museums in the Nordic countries.

Bjørn Wiinblad was a Danish painter, designer and artist in ceramics, silver, bronze, textiles, and graphics. His work has been shown widely in Europe, in the United States of America first in 1954 and in Japan, Australia and Canada in 1968. Wiinblad was named Man of the Year in New York in 1985 and was awarded the American-Scandinavian Foundation’s Cultural Prize of 1995. less
