The theme of the set is the dolphin. It is a beautifully executed work with attention to detail. The tail and fins are made of solid ribbed glass. All with 24k gold leaf incorporated during the making of the item. What caught my attention is the eye, composed of two colors, yellow and black. It's a little murrina made for the eyes. On the glass elements the dolphin sculpture is located on the stem, while on the cups it is positioned as a handle. Furthermore the master added a transparent bead wavy with gold on the bottom of the cup, or under the plates. Commonly called morisa, it is a further element of luxury. The red grass seems to be made in batch, that is, from the same melting pot. The red glass changes from batch to batch, so high-quality serving sets are all made from the same cast glass. It is a wonderful ruby red, especially expensive because it was made by adding gold to the glass sand mixture. It is not possible to achieve nowadays with the limitation of pigments. The ruby red blown glass is in large ribbed relief. Commonly called optical due to the lens effect. The main part is the 11 water and wine glasses. The set was certainly originally 12 pieces and it is a rarity to find 11 of the two main pieces. The 7 rosolio (shot) glasses are perfect as candle holders. The manufacturing dates back to the early 1950s, as it was a wedding gift for a couple from rome, we were able to trace the time of production. This would be the ferro family as makers. As far as i know and considering the traditional style, i assume it is a creation of galliano ferro. This is my attribution. Some pieces still carry the original red avem made in italy murano label. This style is usually part of the salviati and pauly collection and you can find some replacements with the same eye as murrina. The two things do not seem to be contradictory, as there has been a collaboration between these companies and avem or avem's individual artistics. This set was created with the highest level of manufacturing in mind, using the best colours, materials and techniques. It fits perfectly into today's concept of maximalist style. There is nothing like it on the market. It's a museum collection. Each piece is a masterpiece and a work of art. Note: the dimensions indicated refer to the glass with the tallest stem. Only one piece is considered defective. It is one of the bowls in which one dolphin is off and the other reels. Here is the measurement of each piece for better reference in cm and the number of pieces.
