This extraordinary bi-anchored amphora represents a masterpiece of murano glass art, produced by the prestigious salviati & c. Manufactory. Made in the neo-baroque style, it is distinguished by its elaborate design and refined hand-ground decorations that celebrate the craftsmanship of the murano tradition. The body of the amphora, with its flattened shape and slightly irridescent glass, creates fascinating plays of light that give the object an ethereal aura. The rich decorations, finely crafted by grinding wheel, show floral motifs and sinuous ornaments, testifying to the technical excellence of salviati's master glassmakers. The side handles, featuring a cobalt blue glass decoration worked in ridges, add a vibrant and harmonious touch, recalling the elegance of ancient venetian artifacts. The stem base, embellished with a blue blown glass knot and a finely engraved foot, completes the composition with a perfect balance of form and decoration. As pictured, the vase has different decorations on its two faces. On one side a detail of a bird and on the other a basket of flowers. Founded in 1859 by antonio salviati, the salviati & c. Glassworks played a key role in the revival of the murano tradition in the 19th century. A pioneer in the collaboration between artists and master glassmakers, salviati has been able to reinterpret ancient techniques with a modern language, earning an international reputation for the quality and innovation of his works. This piece fully embodies the essence of salviati production: a dialogue between history, art and design. A unique object, perfect to enhance a collection of art glass or to embellish a room with its timeless beauty. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker.
