This Art Deco Style Dry Bar Cabinet is a real piece of art that belongs to a museum and was produced in Italy in the 1950s by the Vittorio Dassi company.
The structure is made of a fine exotic wood, enriched by a gold leafed wood decoration on the base and a glass panel made with a particular decorative technique on the central door.
The top is made of glass
The door is mounted on an hidden column, which allows the body of the cabinet to rotate and show the inside of the bar, which features maple and brass circular shelves, where to put liquor bottles and glasses. The interiors also features two small drawers and a flap door, that becomes a little table when opened and has a wide internal space, covered with mirrors.
Both the outside of the central door and the internal flap door are covered with eglomisè glass (Verre églomisé) panels featuring typically art deco designs, depicting exotic landscapes, elephants and panthers on the outside and two women on the inside. 'Verre églomisé' is a French term referring to the process of applying both a design and gilding onto the rear face of glass to produce a mirror finish.
The keyholes and the keys are in brass.
This dry bar is a real work of art and it becomes the protagonist of any room it is put into.
This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution less
