Very elegant and tall 19th century bronze rooster signed “Comolera” with “Societe des bronzes de Paris” stamp, circa 1870. Paul Comolera (1818-1897) was a French animal sculptor, specializing in roosters. A student of Francois Rude, Comolera's bronzes are prized for their great attention to detail. Beautiful patina of this proud "coq", the symbol of France!
