- This traditional wedding or ceremonial basket was made by Penny Tomayso, an artist of the Dine (Navajo) people of the … more This traditional wedding or ceremonial basket was made by Penny Tomayso, an artist of the Dine (Navajo) people of the southwestern United States. The basket appears to be of willow composition. While it's possibly a vintage piece, the colors are still largely vibrant. We purchased the basket a few years ago from an estate in Tucson, Arizona. This is the largest Dinè piece that we've ever owned. Its rise is over 4" with a span of 18.5" to 19." We rarely come across baskets of this size where the artist is identified. Please note that this is an artist-rendered basket made for sale. We strive not to trade in ceremony-used Native works. less
