Handmade French tapestry with Jacquar manufacture from 1950.
Measures 170x60 cm
Sold without frame.
Material: wool and cotton.
It depicts a bucolic scene with men and women in the countryside. Typical French landscape.
Coming from a villa used as a summer residence, frequent among families of high social class in the period following the Second World War.
The tapestry was dismantled preserving its original integrity. Tapestries from the same period are usually faded but this one managed to retain its almost original colors because it was displayed in a room where the sun did not reach directly.
Very precious and rare piece for its condition.
