A early 20th century German cheese dairy wall cabinet for practical storage of cheesecloth. Made of pine in original paint with the inscription "Koliertücher" (cheesecloths).
A cheesecloth is a thin, wide-meshed woven cloth made of cotton that is used for cheese making.
On the right-hand side, even the original paper instructions from Stadtwerke Saarbrücken on the correct behaviour in the event of a gas smell have survived. The origin from the city of Saabrücken (capital of the federal state of Saarland) in western Germany can therefore be established as fairly certain. This special cabinet is a very rare piece that could also belong into a museum.
