She was also a professor at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart and president of the Association of German Interior Designers. The architect has distinguished herself in numerous renowned projects, including the Baden-Württemberg state parliament and the Chancellor's Bungalow in Bonn.

In 1985, Witzemann received the Cross of Merit, First Class, of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for her services in the field of architecture.
