Model Nr 1071-1, manufactured by Søholm Stentøj (Soholm pottery) on the island of Bornholm, Denmark. Design probably by Einar Johansen.
Søholm Stentøj, which means Soholm’s sandstone, was founded in 1835 by Herman Sonne Wolffsen and Edvard Sonne. It was the oldest factory operating in Bornholm, a Danish island off the south coast of Sweden, until it closed in 1996.
In the middle of the 20th century, Søholm produced a wide range of stoneware in various patterns and shapes. Several Designers worked for Søholm Stentøj as Einar Johansen, Maria Philippi, Noomi Backhausen among others.
