jean branchet
born in 1934
arriving in paris in 1953, jean branchet pursued studies in law and economics at the sorbonne, he discovered contemporary art in the parisian salons, in particular that of réalités nouvelles. Practiced jazz and classical guitar for several years. Occasionally follows live model classes at the académie de la grande chaumière.
economist, organizer and financier of multinational companies, he also leads a personal plastic work which, since the beginning of the seventies, is resolutely in the wake of the constructivist movement. Private trips and those occasioned by the exercise of his profession led him to make frequent trips abroad, thus providing him with the opportunity to visit a large number of museums. With his wife, from 1975 to 2000, he ran the galerie convergence in nantes, a gallery that presented a wide range of significant artists from most of the major artistic movements that appeared after the second world war.
