Crafted in China, this piece is barrel shaped and can be used as a side table or for extra seating. It stands on five cabriole legs ending on a circular bottom stretcher. The round top, with scalloped edges, sits over a bombe apron and is dressed with hand painted chinoiserie decor featuring a pair of birds, flowers and leaves. The legs, apron and stretcher are also decorated with floral and leaf motifs. This sturdy, versatile, decorative piece is painted in rich colors against a black background.
