There is significant wear and tear in the lower drawers and compartments. It appears to have been small children who possibly stored art supplies in some of the drawers at one point, as one of them is dyed slightly purple. There is also some staining of the wood inside the lower compartment. Both of these attributes are visible in the photos. There is some light scratching around the drawers and panels where you would open them. This is normal wear for a piece of furniture over 100 years old. The stairs themselves are in great condition, the only note being a small crack in the bottom step (pictured). It appears to be a natural product of the old wood moving over time. less
