The set of candlestick holders have two tulip-form … more A beautiful pair of antique double candlesticks from Van Briggle, Colorado Springs. The set of candlestick holders have two tulip-form bowls to hold the candles, and are glazed in a very dramatic matte "Mulberry" glaze (wine red with blue overspray, used by Van Briggle since the 1900s).

Both are in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or crazing that I can see. There is a bit of wax residue on the interior of the candle bowls from prior use, but seems to be pretty minimal.

Each candle holder measures 7" long (or about 6.75" horizontal), 4.5" on the front edge, 3 inches on the short edge, and about 2.25 inches wide.

Both are marked with the Van Briggle logo and Van Briggle, Colo. Spgs. There is also an incised number 26, which I believe is called the "clay recipe"; the clay appears to be the whitish clay introduced in the late 1920s, with a light shellac coating. less
